We are celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. Members, please join us tonight for an amazing meal of green eggs (from our chickens, of course) and ham, complete with a reading of the Dr. Seuss favorite! $5 per person. Register Here!

Busy Bees Imagine & Create - 1st Wednesdays

Imagine and Create is a program designed to bring together nature and creative expression.  Children will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of media and use the natural world to create works of arts.  Join us to sing, dance, paint and create.

Busy Bees will rip, stir, knead, and arrange foods from the garden!  We will explore with our five senses the art of cooking.  Each month we will focus on seasonal food, songs, crafts, and stories.

Topic: Stone Soup Winter time is the right time to prepare soup!  After exploring the garden for seasonal foods, we will warm up with hot cocoa and make soup and bread in our colorful kitchen.  We will chop, tear, mix, measure, & taste in this exciting cooking class!

Saturday February 11, 2012            3rd-5th grade

We Can Grow! Planning Your Family Garden!

Planning Your Family Garden: Families will join the Edible Schoolyard staff for hands-on instruction to plan and care for your home garden.  Content will be based on families' needs.  Children's activities provided.

Performed by Caldcleugh Multicultural Arts Center StudentsSaturday, February 25th at 2pm Popcorn & Performance Ben's Trumpet. Join us for pocorn and a performance by our friends at Caldcleugh Multicultural Arts Center. This play is an adaptation of the Caldecott Award Winning children's book, Ben's Trumpet. Daily encounters with musicians from a neighborhood jazz club inspire Ben, a young boy who longs to play the trumpet. Set in 1920's Harlem, Ben's love for music is favored by an older trumpet player who gives him his first instrument. Free with admission or membership.

 

Join Poet.she as we explore the lives of influential African-Americans and their contributions to make a better America. Each Friday night we will share the stories of ordinary people who were motivated to do extraordinary things. Through storytelling, poetry performances, and interactive activities we hope to highlight and share the lives of Black Americans that have helped change the future of a whole culture and thereby a whole country. Free with admission or membership.
