Busy Bees (Members Only)
Mondays, July 6, 13, 20, 27, 9am-12noon
GCM's educational play program offers lots of fun things parents can do together with their children including music and movement, sensory story time, and awesome arts. Offered on Mondays from 9am-12pm for Members only and includes different themes for each week. Best suited for pre-school aged children (ages 1-5) and their caregivers. Tuesday Night Groovin, Gardenin’ & Grillin’
Tuesday nights starting July 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th 4-8:00 pm
The Museum will be staying open late every Tuesday night to celebrate the summer! We’ll have music including several concerts by Big Bang Boom and other local bands, garden fun and outdoor activities. Families can bring their own picnic dinners to enjoy or food can be purchased. Free with admission/membership.

Culture of Color Saturdays

Join GCM each Saturday this summer as we celebrate the Eastern Indian culture in our new series called the Culture of Color! Activities may include learning new words, dressing in cultural costumes, sampling different foods, learn dance and doing art. Activities free with admission/membership.

Patriotic Parade
Friday, July 3, 10:15am
Patriotic toddlers are invited to The Greensboro Children’s Museum on this day to celebrate American’s Independence day with a bicycle and wagon parade. Toddlers can decorate their rides with red, white, and blue with streamers and other fun items. After the decorating party, everyone will head around “Main Street” of the Museum for a patriotic parade and then enjoy popsicles in the backyard. Bring your bikes and wagons.

Free Big Bang Boom Concert!
Friday, July 10, 6am-8:15am
Join us bright and early Friday, July 10th, to watch a free concert by Big Bang Boom! WGHP Fox 8 will be here taping live shots for their morning news that day for their summer concert series and we want as many kids to attend as possible and sing and dance along to the band! If you're interested in getting your child on TV, call Steffany Reeve at 574-2898 x306. Admission for the concert is FREE!
Rockets and Robots
Saturday, July 11, 9:30am - 4pm
Join us for this special event where there will be plenty of interactive and entertaining activities for kids of all ages! The incredible Robot # 9 will be our guest along with special space-themed activities including:

Posing for a picture with Robot Number Nine

Helping design a giant rocket using recycled materials

Creating your very own robot using aluminum and tin cans

Launching rockets in the Museum’s backyard using air and water

Dancing like a robot and compete in the robot contest

Painting a ceramic robot ($5 extra charge), quantities are limited.
The Museum is collecting empty two liter bottles and aluminum and tin cans for the event and welcomes donations in our front lobby. General admission fees apply this day ($6 adults and children 1yr+, Members and children under 1 year are free). We'd like to thank our partners, the Center for Visual Artists and Mad Platter for helping us out on this day with activities.
Brain Minders Puppet Show

Come meet Brain Minder Buddies, Gerald Giraffe, Penny Panda, and Martin Monkey as they explore how to “Play Safe and Play Smart”! Created by the Pilot International Club, this interactive puppet show will show you how to protect your brain!

Join us for fly fishing demonstrations. Learn to cast a fly fishing rod, attempt to tie a fly and view a fly fishing show.
“Friends Around the World” Day

Join us the 3rd Sunday of each month as we welcome our friends from all around the world to the Museum for a day of fun and play! We will enjoy a variety of multicultural activities, while making new friends from new places. Children’s author, Janet Johnston also known as "Gamma Jan" will be here to read her book, We All Live On the Earth. The book is a wonderfully and vividly illustrated story that expresses the many differences between children all over the world. She will share stories & items from her time in Saudi Arabia and Jemen.
