Springtime Sprouts-Secret, Hidden Worlds

This week, we will learn about the garden's secret, hidden worlds! As junior detectives, we will explore the pond, dig in the soil, and visit The Edible Schoolyard's willow dome. What will we discover along the way? Before the day is over, we will also prepare a secret snack and explore in the Museum.

Become a farmer for the afternoon and spend the day taking care of our farm!  Digging, planting, harvesting, and caring for animals will be the order of the day. We'll also eat a tasty garden snack and explore in the Museum.

Members Only Monday Mornings Busy Bee’s is a fun interactive preschool program that offers activities focusing on music and movement, garden exploration, and kitchen discovery.

Join us for an afternoon of cake fun as we make and decorate a variety of cake creations.

Curated Cookbooks:  One Good Dish with Adeline Talbot & Terri Maultsby

In April, Terri and Adeline will lead students through a hands-on class of recipes from One Good Dish by David Tanis.  Tanis writes a weekly column for the New York Times called City Kitchen.  With this cookbook, Tanis proves that food doesn’t have to be complicated to be delicious.


GCM's Second Annual Inventor's Fair

The Greensboro Children’s Museum encourages the budding inventor in every child by providing a platform for children to share and celebrate their invention ideas. Children are invited to participate by developing a completely original invention or making improvements to an existing invention. Ideas, drawings and concepts welcome.  This is not a science fair, this is a about imagination and creativity.  The invention does not need to be proven or even work, it can be purely theoretical.  Entry in the Showcase is FREE and open to children in grades Kindergarten through third grade.



Family Fun Day at the Greensboro Children’s Museum!
The Greensboro Children’s Museum celebrates The Week of the Young Child with FREE ADMISSION on Saturday, April 12th!  Explore the Museum’s 20+ exhibits including Gizmos and Gadgets, the fire truck, police car, Volvo Truck and the Edible Schoolyard garden! Enjoy creative play experiences in the Playmobile©.   Talk with police officers and visit with “Sparky” the fire dog and learn how to make a home fire escape plan.  Bring your camera…popular children’s book character, Olivia the Pig, will visit GCM on this very special day!
