Outreach Programs
Play to Learn Outreach Project:
Through a grant from Lincoln Financial Foundation, Greensboro Children’s Museum staff, Gabrielle Howell, is working with 15 Guilford Child Development Head Start classroom teachers. The goal of this outreach is to connect children with nature through a variety of environmental science based activities.
Step by Step
Step by Step is an initiative funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The primary goal is to support healthy lifestyles through nutrition knowledge, physically active lifestyles and engagement with and respect for nature through outdoor experiences. The Greensboro Children’s Museum has partnered for the second year with Lindley Elementary with the ultimate goal of developing a whole child approach to health and wellness through weekly classroom lessons, nutrition and garden activities, and “edible events”, at the Museum and school, for children and their families.
