Unless stated otherwise, all programs all free with GCM admission or membership.

 

Weekly Programs

Busy Bees:

Members Only, 9am-12noon

GCM's educational play program offers lots of fun things parents can do together with their children including music and movement, sensory story time, and awesome arts.  Offered on Mondays from 9am-12pm for Members only and includes different themes for each week. Best suited for pre-school aged children (ages 1-5) and their caregivers. Call Gabrielle at 574-2898x311 for details.    

Kids on the Ball & Wee Little Kids on the Ball Program:

Tuesdays, 3:30pm Wee Little Kids on the Ball (ages 3-5 yrs)

Tuesdays, 4pm Kids on the Ball (ages 6-10 yrs)

This program gets your kids moving in a fun way using kid-sized exercise balls!  Our activities and games focus on a variety of fitness disciplines including balance, coordination, strength, cardio, and flexibility.  We will be on top of, around, to the side of, and even hopping on balls!  No pre-registration necessary. Free with admission/membership.

Family Fun Friday Nights

Friday Nights, 5-8pm

GCM welcomes all families to the Museum on Friday nights for a night of fun.  GCM discounts admission on this night to $3 (half-priced) to increase accessibility of all families.

Color of Culture - UNCG Soccer Clinic

Saturday, May 2, 10:30-11am

Join us for a fun soccer clinic presented by UNCG athletics.  Clinic is free with admission/membership but participants must pre-register.  Space is limited.

Color of Culture - Kid's Salsa and Spanish

Saturday, May 2, 2pm

Join GCM each Saturday in April as we celebrate the culture of the Hispanic and Latino community in a new series called the Culture of Color!  On this day, Vanessa Esquivel will teach children fun salsa steps and Spanish!

Cinco de Mayo Celebration!

Tuesday, May 5, all day

Traditional Mexican arts and crafts will be created today.  Join us for a parade around 11 am and 3 pm.

Brain Minders Puppet Show

Saturday, May 9, 10:30am

Come meet Brain Minder Buddies, Gerald Giraffe, Penny Panda, and Martin Monkey as they explore how to “Play Safe and Play Smart”! Created by the Pilot International Club, this interactive puppet show will show you how to protect your brain! 


Mother's Day Fun!

Sunday, May 10, all day

All Mom's get in FREE on this day!  Kids can create a special gift for moms in Creation Station.

  John Hart Dinner Gala & Fundraiser

Monday, May 11, 7pm

Join us for a fundraising Dinner Gala at the Greensboro Country Club celebrating the EXCLUSIVE National Book Launch of The Last Child by local novelist and Museum Board Member, John Hart.  Special guests Ed Cone and D.G. Martin will deliver an entertaining presentation and John Hart will offer up a sneak preview of the book that’s not released to the public until the next day. Tickets are $150 per person and include a signed and dated, advanced copy of the book.  The Museum is also selling raffle tickets to win a chance to get your name as a character in John Hart’s next book!  Tickets are $20 or 6 for $100.  Click here for more information.

Come and listen to Big Bang Boom perform for our 10th birthday celebration.  Birthday cake and parade to follow.  Happy Birthday to us!!  Free with admission.

Culture of Color - Salsa Dancers

Join GCM each Saturday in April as we celebrate the culture of the Hispanic and Latino community in a new series called the Culture of Color!  On this day there will be a Latin American Dance performance.

Culture of Color - Costa Rican Art Display

Sonia Maria Solis Arce will display artwork from Costa Rica and encourage guests to create art Costa Rican Style.

“Friends Around the World” Day

Sunday, May 17, all day

Join us the 3rd Sunday of each month as we welcome our friends from all around the world to the Museum for a day of fun and play!  We will enjoy a variety of multicultural activities, while making new friends from new places.

Family Bingo Night

Friday, May 22, 6-7:30 pm

Bring the whole family for a fun night of family BINGO Bonanza! We’ll provide the card, the markers, and lots of fun prizes. 

 

Culture of Color - Costa Rican Art Display

Sonia Maria Solis Arce will display artwork from Costa Rica and encourage guests to create art in the Costa Rican Style

Culture of Color - Latin American Rhythms

Saturday, May 23, 2pm

Dance to the different Latin American Rhythms: Venezuelan drums, Tango, Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.

Picnics in the Park

Weds, May 27, 11:30-1:30pm

Join GCM, 98.7 Simon and other local orgazinations on this Wednesday at Governmental Plaza downtown for 2 hours of fun.  There will be 98 cents hotdogs for sale and music to enjoy with your family.  Get information on the Museum's 5K Running of the Green and Summer Camps. No cost.
