First Friday Night Special

Looking for fun for the kiddo’s on First Friday’s? GCM is the place to be on the first Friday of every month.! Experience the FUN for a thrifty price.

Gardening can help kids build a love and appreciation of food for a lifetime of healthy eating. In City Growers, kids will join Hailey in The Edible Schoolyard to learn how food is grown, harvested and enjoyed!

Water, water everywhere! Join us as we explore the wonder of water in The Edible Schoolyard. We will visit the magical pond and try to catch goldfish, water plants, and so much more.

City Growers: Super Seeds

This week, we will learn how to save seeds just like real farmers! The afternoon will include a seed scavenger hunt, a seed craft, and a delicious seed snack.

Teen Cooking Class: A Taste of El Salvador
Friday, September 26, 2014, 5pm-7pm

We’ll visit El Salvador in this international cooking class and learn to make traditional pupusas- a thick, handmade corn tortilla stuffed with pork, cheese, or refried beans.  Then, we’ll harvest garden-fresh produce for slaw and accompaniments.  Buen Provecho!

This class is designed to provide kids with a place to HAVE FUN and gain an introduction to the fundamentals of yoga through playful breathing exercises, poses and games. Little Yogis aims to provide a supportive, non-competitive environment for nurturing and developing important skills such as: strength, flexibility, creativity, self-acceptance, self-confidence, cooperation, teamwork, compassion, generosity, and respect for self and others.

Enjoy the bounty from the garden. Harvest seasonal produce, practice knife skills, and prepare a harvest feast featuring the flavors of fall.

On the menu: honey mustard pork tenderloin, roasted seasonal vegetables, and individual apple crisp a la mode

Tween Cooking Class: Thanksgiving Cookies and Decorations
Friday, November 18, 2014, 3:30-5pm

Ages: 8-10
Cost: $30 - Pre-registration required

Join us in the kitchen to decorate Thanksgiving cookies. We will also make table decorations, including cornhusk dolls and gourd centerpieces. You will be able to take your creations home to enjoy for the holidays. Snacks will be served.
