First Friday Night Special

Looking for fun for the kiddo’s on First Friday’s? GCM is the place to be on the first Friday of every month.! Experience the FUN for a thrifty price. On Friday, July 3rd admission is only $2.00 from 5pm-8pm.

Adult Cooking Class: Backyard BBQ-SOLD OUT

Whether the idea of cooking your own bbq seems daunting or there is a well-used smoker in your garage, join Backyard Pit Master, Jim King for an evening of tips and techniques that will up your backyard bbq game. Jim will cover setting up your grill, choosing cuts of meat, injections vs. rubs, regulating temperature and much more. Class participants will practice injecting, applying a rub, and chopping/pulling. We'll also make bbq sauce and customize a rub to take home.

Little Farmers in the City Summer Camp

June 15 – June 19, 9am – 1pm
Ages: 4 years- Rising K’s
Cost: Members $100, Non-Members $110    REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Experience the life of an urban farmer for the week!  Each day, we will explore the garden, taking care of the plants and animals.  We will also visit the farmer’s market and host our very own market on the last day of camp.

If you’ve ever wanted to try jam making, this will be an easy introduction to the hobby. Jen Garrison will lead you through the session with jam basics and fun twists as well as water bath canning and safety.  For several years, Jen has been making small batch, gourmet, organic, fruit-forward jams with Plum Granny Farm in King, NC. As a former archaeologist, historic hearth cook, pastry chef, and now organic farmer and jam maker, food is never far from her thoughts.

Step inside our laboratory and prepare to be fascinated!  We will provide the lab coats and goggles, and you provide the inquisitive mind.  Create concoctions, perform experiments and explore the uses of science in a variety of ways.
