GCM Playgroup

Pay at admission desk on arrival or purchase tickets online. Pre-registration is encouraged.

Connect with other parents and caregivers of young children (Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers) at the Greensboro Children’s Museum each week for a standing playdate!  Meet a Museum educator for a kick-off activity and then go exploring, playing, and learning in the Museum together.  GCM Playgroup meets every Thursday at 3:30pm from September through May.

Baby & Me Yoga (5 Weeks - Waddlers)

Mondays, February 6, 2017 -  March 13, 2017, 9:45 - 10:30am
Ages: 0 – 1 Years

This 45-minute class is designed for both baby and caregiver. We spend the first part of class stretching, breathing, and moving for you. The second part of class is singing and moving playfully with your baby yogi. This class has a wide age range (5 Weeks - Waddlers). 

Class fee includes 6 sessions with admission to the Greensboro Children’s Museum for the participant and one adult on class days.

Tiny Tots Yoga (12 – 24 Months)

This 45-minute class is designed for caregivers and their young toddlers. Our time together is a fun mix of yoga and play for your little one. We provide a safe space for you and your tiny tot to move, stretch, sing and play yoga!

Mini Yogis (3 – 5 Years)

Creative and fun, these classes plant the seeds of yoga to stimulate imagination, maintain flexibility and develop conscious breathing. Our unique approach combines yoga poses with rhythm, literacy, games and mindfulness techniques. Drop-off program recommended for ages 3-5 years old.

Toddler & Me Yoga (2 – 3 Years)

This class is for toddlers and caregivers to enjoy the benefits of yoga together. This class gives parents the opportunity to see how their child interacts with other children and the teacher. Animated poses, music and props help toddlers develop good listening skills from the start!

Little Yogis (5 – 8 Years)

This class is designed to provide little yogis ages 5-8 with a place to have FUN and gain an introduction to the fundamentals of yoga through playful breathing exercises, poses, and games!

Youthful Flow (8 – 12 Years)

Youthful Flow by Wren's Nest is a lighthearted basic yoga flow class where your child will learn breathing techniques, postures, and relaxation tools. Students will learn to move with a greater sense of awareness and focus. Empower your child with self-confidence and the skills necessary in coping with stress. This yoga practice will enhance physical and mental performance needed in school, sports, extracurricular activities, and life!

Adult Cooking Class: Hearty Winter Salads

Discover winter salads that feature ingredients readily available in the cooler months. Learn to utilize cool weather greens, vegetables, grains, and legumes to create salads that are fresh, delicious, and substantial enough to be a main dish.

Explore the Winter Garden: A Homeschool Day at GCM

Cost: $6.50 per child

On February 15th, GCM will welcome homeschooling families to the Museum for a special morning of hands-on learning around the theme ‘Exploring the Winter Garden.’  Activities are designed to meet grade level curriculum standards for children ages 3 – 12 years.  The cost per child is $6.50.  Caregivers of homeschool students and siblings 12 months of age and under are FREE.  Pre-registration required.  Should the Museum need to cancel this event due to inclement weather, your registration will be transferred to our “snow date” February 28th.  Questions?  Contact us at sashton@gcmuseum.com or 336.574.2898

From Michelangelo to Mondrian, we’ll familiarize ourselves with great works of art and try our hands at mimicking the masters. We will explore elements of art such as line, color, and texture. Come ready to learn and, of course, get a bit messy!

Put a new spin on pizza with pizza pinwheels. We'll learn to make dough from scratch and customize our pizza creations with a variety of toppings. To compete the meal, we'll prepare a leafy green salad and homemade dressing.

Kids Cooking Class: Pedal-Powered Smoothies
