Summer 2015 Friday Night Special

Looking for fun for the kiddo’s on Friday’s? GCM is the place to be Fridays this summer!
Experience the FUN for a thrifty price. On Fridays until Labor Day admission is only $2.00 from 5pm-8pm.

 

Closed August 31st - September 4th for cleaning.
Reopen 5pm 9/7 for First Friday.

Ever wonder what's happening at GCM on a particular day?These are quick, fun, hands-on activities which are staff-led and add variety to your museum visit. Each month our educational theme will change, so keep on the lookout for new and exciting opportunities!

Adult Cooking Class: Jam Session
Thursday, July 9, 2015

If you’ve ever wanted to try jam making, this will be an easy introduction to the hobby. Jen Garrison will lead you through the session with jam basics and fun twists as well as water bath canning and safety.  For several years, Jen has been making small batch, gourmet, organic, fruit-forward jams with Plum Granny Farm in King, NC. As a former archaeologist, historic hearth cook, pastry chef, and now organic farmer and jam maker, food is never far from her thoughts.

Sensational Science Summer Camp

July 13 – July 17, 9am – 3pm
Ages: Rising 1st and 2nd
Cost: Members $150, Non-Members $160   REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Step inside our laboratory and prepare to be fascinated!  We will provide the lab coats and goggles, and you provide the inquisitive mind.  Create concoctions, perform experiments and explore the uses of science in a variety of ways. 
Your confirmation will include the following Google Health documents for each camper.

I Spy Summer Camp

Ages: Rising 1st and 2nd
Cost: Members $150, Non-Members $160   REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Do you have the stealthy moves and shrewd mind it takes to be a super sleuth spy?  Train with us and you will!  Crack codes, make spy gadgets, and enhance your observational skills.  Who knows? We might even uncover secrets at the Museum!
