Volunteer Types

Exhibits Volunteers

Exhibits volunteers role play with guests, keep exhibits neat.
Ideal for: Volunteers looking for guest interaction, playing with families and who have lots of energy! Responsibilities include playing, engaging and maintaining exhibits. Ideal for college students looking for service hours, service learning or to fill graduation requirements.

Summer Camp Volunteers

Summer Camp Volunteers help support the camp counselors and spend a week getting to know a group of kids.
When: Summer 2012
Ideal for: Volunteers interested in working with GCM summer camps on a weekly basis. Responsibilities include assisting camp counselors with the set up, implementation and clean up of crafts, activities, snack time other camp needs.

Prop Volunteers

Crafts, programs, activities and exhibits require a large amount of work behind the scenes. Support Shop Volunteers assist with prep work, cutting, painting, sewing and tracing the supplies needed.
When: Weekday afternoons
Ideal for: Volunteers interested in arts and crafts, sewing and helping prepare large craft activities for our guests. Moms groups, individuals, craftsmen, circles of friends.

Marketing Volunteers

Volunteers will be assigned tasks such as poster design, database support, outreach events, calendar updates and much more.
When: Daily 9-5pm
Ideal for: Marketing or communications undergraduate students.
