Meet the Edible Schoolyard Team
Eleanor Farlow, BS
Edible Schoolyard Garden Educator
Eleanor has taught in a wide variety of settings for nearly twenty years. From teaching ceramics to senior citizens in college to instructing middle school and high school English in Japan to a ten year stint as a certified Montessori teacher in lower and upper elementary classrooms, Eleanor has worked with learners of all ages. In addition to her teaching background, Eleanor brings a lifelong love of gardening and cooking, a passion for poultry and a commitment to sharing the seed to table experience with children and their families.
Katrina Siladi, BS
Edible Schoolyard Teacher and Volunteer and Intern Coordinator
With a recent degree in Peace and Conflict Studies and Ceramic Arts from Guilford College, Kat joins the official Edible Schoolyard team after working for a year at the Museum as a member of the education team and a part-time Americorps Access Member striving to make the museum more accessible to immigrants and refugees in the area. Her interest in food education lies in teaching children and families lost knowledge of food production and connecting food production, from seed to table, with multiculturalism and other social issues.
