September 24, 2009

The Museum broke ground on the new Edible Schoolyard on Thursday, September 24th and it was a great event! Special guest, Alice Waters (founder of original Edible Schoolyard, nationally renowned chef & author) spoke about how important this new project is for the Museum and for the Greensboro community. GCM's Executive Director, Betsy Grant, Board Chairman, John Cross, and Former Board Chairman, Melanie Soles, thanked everyone for supporting the project and shared future goals for the project. Other special guests included Yvonne Johnson (Greensboro's Mayor), Marsha Guerrero (Director of Edible Schoolyard Program) and Mo Green (Guilford County Schools Superintendent).
